Why we excel as team or virtual admin specialists

As a business, our mission is to become an indispensable asset to every client we partner with, and our values are honest, accurate, reliable, and fun. Everything we do, including the selection of staff, is guided by these values.

In our business, we have two major job categories of admin jobs –  Clients Service Coordinator / Managers and Bookkeepers. The largest and fastest-growing of those categories is our Clients Service Coordinator/ Managers. These roles are essentially a mix of virtual administration and virtual reception. In this role, you would manage 3-6 trades or services, clients, delivering Office Shed’s range of services. Your main daily tasks include call answering, scheduling, uploading information to job management apps, quoting, invoicing, email inbox management and compliance documentation. If you are interested in this role, you will likely come from an administrative, customer service or retail background, though we will entertain candidates with other backgrounds.

When hiring, we are not solely looking at your experience; what we really value is your positive attitude, ability to develop and alignment with our values. Most importantly, you will be someone who is motivated to help others.

Our bookkeeping roles are more traditional in nature and consist of the usual bookkeeping tasks of reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, debtor and creditor management, payroll and BAS preparation and lodgement. We are a Xero Gold Partner, and as such 95% of our clients are Xero users. Often our bookkeeping clients also use our admin support service, so you will work closely with our admin teams on some clients. The key challenge as an Office Shed Bookkeeper is effectively sharing your time between the accounts you service.

We have a 5-stage recruitment process for our admin jobs, which consists of telephone screening, two face to face interviews, reference checks and online psychometric test.

We truly value each of our staff and their contribution to Office Shed’s success; you will never be a number, instead you will be part of the Office Shed family or a ‘Shed Head’ as we call it.

We have regular social events, and our team socialise regularly outside of work. If you’re interested in becoming a Shed Head, please forward your resume to hello@officeshed.com.au and let us know why you think you’d be suitable. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
